OCRA 10M Net – August 17, 2026
Except for the second Monday of the month the OCRA Club Meeting night, this net meets every Monday on 28.450MHz (up or down 5KHz if the frequency is in use). Bruce, N1LN is the usual net control operator.
We need more volunteers to occasionally take on the role as Net Control for this net. No special skills are required beyond hearing most of the stations checking in (a relay from someone else could help if you can’t hear everyone), the ability to write down their callsigns.
The ability to manage the station-to-station rotation. notes, emails, etc. are not required and would totally be up to the Net Control.
A Zoom conference also begins at 7:30pm and is an OCRA outreach effort focusing on:
* Prospective hams who have contacted the club about their interests and new applicants for club membership.
* Newly licensed and other club members who have not yet acquired HF or UHF equipment.
* Club members residing where radio signals are blocked by terrain, HOA antenna restrictions, or adjoining county locations too distant to participate by radio.
* The Zoom video conference will open 30 minutes prior to the net and continues after the net for a social gathering.
