Meetings
First Tuesday of every month
We meet at Bullock’s BBQ in Durham — dinner at 6:00 pm, meeting and program at 7:00 pm. The private room and extensive menu make for a great night out.
Membership dues
Affordable for everyone
Full membership is just $12/year. Additional family members at the same address join for $6/year. All active members receive a monthly email newsletter.
Newly licensed hams get their first year free — a great way to get plugged in right away.
Emergency communications
Ready when it counts
Amateur radio has a long history supporting emergency communications during disasters. DFMA members participate in nets, public service events, and simulated emergencies to stay sharp.
Field Day
Nationally ranked, every year
Field Day is a 24-hour nationwide exercise held the fourth full weekend in June. DFMA joins forces with the Orange County Radio Amateurs (OCRA) for a joint operation that has consistently earned nationally top-ranked results.
Our repeater network
Three sites across the Triangle
DFMA operates repeaters at TV Hill in northern Durham, near the I-85 / I-40 interchange near Hillsborough, and on the VA Hospital in Durham — giving excellent Triangle-wide coverage on 145.450– (PL 82.5).
