Fire at Bullock's - Reopen in a week? Print E-mail
Written by KU4GC
Wednesday, 20 April 2016 18:26

As most of you already know, Bullock's BBQ had a fire in their kitchen early this morning.  So what does that do for our next meeting on May 3rd?

So far, we have two data points.  Skip, WB4P, heard an interview with one of the Bullock's folks  stating they hoped to reopen in a week.  MK, W4MKR, and I drove to Bullocks a little after noon today.  There was a disaster recovery service there, hard at work.  I talked to one of those people and was also told that they should be open again in a week if not sooner.

Obviously, predicting the future has its risks, but so far our meeting seems secure.  Anything to the contrary will be posted here and will also go to members by email.  If anyone knows of any good backup locations, preferably with food, but without food would be better than nothing. please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. March 1 Program: Show & Tell & Sell Print E-mail
Written by KU4GC

It has been quite some time since we had a Show & Tell program. It’s always a popular and educational program.  Please bring something of interest and plan on spending about 5 minutes talking about it. There will also be an opportunity to auction off an item you bring. So if you have something to sell, bring it to the meeting. If you would like
to donate a portion of the proceeds to the club, that would be greatly appreciated.

Feb 2 Program: Mystery and Prize Print E-mail
Written by KU4GC

Program: Mystery
By: Wilson Lamb, W4BOH

So far, Wilson has not revealed the topic of his presentation.  History suggests that it will be interesting and entertaining.  Join us and have the secret revealed.

If you can guess (real guess, not insider information), what the topic will be, you can win an automatic door prize.  Mail me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) your guess before we post the actual topic (if we get it before the meeting).  In case of ties, first answer received will win.  I will be the judge of the correctness of your response.  It must be specific.  (Guesses like "Something about ham radio" are likely to be correct but would not be considered specific enough to merit a door prize.)

The winner, if any, will get the 2nd choice at the door prizes (the first ticket drawn will still get the first pick).
